  4. The purpose of this text file is to detail known problems (and their
  5. solutions) with the document list management system.
  6.                        
  7. Manual Installation Instructions
  8. --------------------------------
  9.  
  10. If you cannot install this application with the supplied "Setup" module,
  11. please use the following procedure to do so:
  12.  
  13. 1) Create a folder where you want to install this application.
  14.  
  15. 2) Extract DLMSxx.ZIP to the newly created folder.  Do not use the contents
  16.    of the folder from your failed installation attempt.  The files in that
  17.    folder can no longer be used (and may be deleted).
  18.  
  19. 3) For each file that has an underscore ("_") as the last character of the
  20.    extension, change the underscore to one of the following values:
  21.  
  22.    ex_ = exe
  23.    hl_ = hlp
  24.    tx_ = txt
  25.    dl_ = dll
  26.  
  27. 4) DocMan is now installed on your computer.  This method of installation
  28.    does not allow you to automatically uninstall this application, but you
  29.    could do so manually by erasing the DocMan folder that you created in
  30.    the first step.

  32. Removable Hard Disks
  33. --------------------
  34.  
  35. If you have a SyQuest EZ-135 Internal IDE Removable Hard Disk Cartridge,
  36. Windows 95 may generate a "drive x: not ready" or "not ready reading drive
  37. x:" message after inserting a cartridge into the drive while:
  38.  
  39. a) the document list management system is present in the system tray -and-
  40.  
  41. b) the AutoRemove feature is active
  42.  
  43. The solution to this problem is to restart the computer.  After you restart,
  44. immediately remove the cartridge and insert it again (before Windows 95
  45. starts).  To avoid this problem, do not use the AutoRemove feature or do
  46. not remove a cartridge while this application is present in the system tray.
  47. If you need to switch cartridges, terminate the document list management
  48. system while it is idle.
